皮影制品以上等牛皮为原料，经刮、磨、刻、染、熨、缀等20馀道工序手工精工细作而成。皮影戏中人物、景物的造型与制作，采取了抽象与写实相结合的手法，对人物及场面景物进行了大胆的平面化、艺术化、卡通化的综合处理。其造型古朴典雅，民族气息浓厚，既具有艺术欣赏性又有收藏价值，所以国内外很多博物馆、收藏家、艺术工作者和皮影爱好者都藏有中国皮影。在国际交往中，也常有国人以中国皮影作为上等礼品赠与国际友人。尤其是日本人和韩国人喜欢这些艺术品。
他自幼年受家庭影响，对绘画，皮影产生了浓厚兴趣。后师从皮影艺术大师汪天稳、刘步端、李占文、郝炳黎、虞哲光、江玉祥等人。他认真学习传统的雕刻技法，勇于创新，博采众长，对艺术精益求精，经过多年的艰苦磨练，不断探索，取得了显著成绩。他在牛皮上以刀代笔，结合中国绘画的线描形式，充分发挥雕刻工具的性能，娴熟的推皮运刀，旋转自如，所刻的雪花、万字等图案缜密精细，以密集的凿孔与豁朗遵劲、流畅而富有弹性的镂线相衬互映，疏密有致，精细雕刻纹式结合强烈明快的色块在反复对比中变化统一，构成优美的节律韵感。他完成的作品，繁而不冗、简而不空；色彩沉着浑厚，丽而不艳，行成了独特的个人风格，被誉为新一代陕西东路皮影雕刻大师。
他曾应德国傀儡戏工作者协会邀请赴德国，在德累斯顿、柏林、吕贝克、慕尼黑、汉堡、布莱梅、法兰克福等十多个城市现场献艺，作品被德、英、法、美、加拿大、瑞士、日本等国博物馆收藏。他已辑入《中国当代艺术届名人录》、《中国民间艺术名人录》。
影絵芝居の人形は上等の牛皮を原料とし、むき、磨き、刻み、染め、アイロンをかけ、つなぎあわせなど、20あまりの工程を経て細かく手作りしたものだ。影絵芝居の中の人物、景物の造形や製作は抽象的と写実的との結び合う手法を採って、人物や場面景物に大胆的に平面化、芸術化、漫画化など総合的に取り扱う。その造形が素朴で典雅であり、民族の息吹きが極厚い。藝術鑑賞性があれば、収蔵の価値もあるので、国内外では、多くの博物館、収蔵家、藝術者と影絵芝居の愛好者は皆、中国華州の影絵芝居を収蔵している。国際の交流の中で、常に中国人が中国の華州の影絵芝居の人形を上等のプレゼントとして国際の友人に差し上げることもある。
Piying are made all exquisitely by hand of crown cow leather after more than 20 working procedures such as shaving, grinding, carving, dying, ironing and stitching. The sculpting and making of the figures and landscapes in Piying xi have adopted both abstract and concrete techniques to deal comprehensively with the figures and landscape by bold application of complation, artification, and cartoonization. The sculpts are simple, unsophisticated, and elegant with strong ethnic features, which not only bear the value of artistic appreciation, but also that of collection. This is why there are so many museums, collectors, artists and Piying lovers both at home and abroad have collected China Huazhou Piying. In international exchanges, Piying are often presented as high rank gifts to foreign friends by many Chinese.

Jiang Jianhe, Master of Piying Performance: Performing Art Instructor of Shaanxi Yutian Society
Born in 1968 in the village of Shaanxi Piying, Mr. Jiang studied Piying xi with Li Junmin, a famous Shaanxi east school artist and also former coach of “Wanwan aria” at Shaanxi Theatre Research Institute. Mr. Jiang was not only a gifted, but also diligent. Based on traditional aria, he has created his own performing features with elegant rhymes, clear and rich tones, and passionate style. During his performance, he also received edification of several famous Piying artists such as Zhang Zhiyong, and Hao Bingli. Mr. Jiang is now member of Weinan Municipal China Political Consultative Conference, deputy president of Weinan Municipal Piying Association, vice chairman of Huaxian County Piying Association, leader of Shaanxi Yutian Performing Art Troupe.
For many years, he has performed many times for foreign friends from Canada, France, America, Syria, Swiss, Japan, Thailand, and Germany.
He has also been interviewed by a CCTV special program “Appointment with the Countryside”, with the interview entitled “the Last Huaxian County Piying”.
In August 2005, he gave a special performance on the 76th General Assembly of Intangial Cultural Heritage, and was highly appreciated by experts both at home and abroad.
